June 4, 2008, 7:00pm: The New York Young Republican Club (the state-party affiliated one) June Social at Bowery Wine Company, 13 East 1st Street, between Bowery+Second Avenue. Bruce Willis is not being welcomed warmly by the anarchists, Marxists, and counter-culture riffraff of the Lower East Side now that he's opened the Bowery Wine Company. In fact, John Penley, a liberal activist, told Page Six in the NY Post that "We want to show our opposition to right-wing Republicans opening yuppie wine bars in our neighborhood." Needless to say, we're going to fill his neighborhood whether he likes it or not. Come join us for a great evening. Members, Non-members and all Guests are warmly welcomed. Free.

June 4, 2008, 8:00pm: Lolita Debates presents “Should Conservatives and Libertarians Vote for Barr Instead of McCain?” — with Ron Paul campaign veteran Avery Knapp (yes) vs. science and economics writer (Scientific American Mind, elsewhere) Ken Silber (no). Michel Evanchik moderates, and Todd Seavey hosts. Free admission, cash bar. The debates, usually pitting two opponents against each other (in a civil and often humorous fashion), take place on the basement level of Lolita Bar at 266 Broome St. at the corner of Allen St. on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, one block south and three west of the Delancey St. F, J, M, Z subway stop.

June 12, 2008, 7:30pm: New York Young Republican Club, Inc (the independent one) Monthly Meeting featuring speaker Diana Furchtgott-Roth. Diana Furchtgott-Roth is a Senior Fellow with the Hudson Institute whose expertise is economics, jobs and labor economics, tax policies and regulation. Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld is the Director of the American Center for Democracy and an author who writes on terrorism and corruption-related topics. June 19, 2008, 7:00pm: The New York Young Republican Club (the state-party affiliated one) May Monthly Meeting at the Women's National Republican Club, 3 West 51st Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Speaker Announced: DAVID FRUM, former speechwriter to President Bush, also a National Review contributor, and author. http://www.davidfrum.com/aboutfrum.htm We'll also hear from multiple candidate about their races! June 21, 2008, 11:00am-5:00pm: New York Young Republican Club, Inc (the independent one), 7th Avenue (bet 47th & 57th St) will sponsor its annual Mardi Gras Street Fair. Mardi Gras Street Fairs is the largest street for organization in America and this year will be our sixth year sponsoring one. The New York Young Republican Club would like dedicated Republicans (members or non-members) to help us represent our party, support our candidates and get new young conservative minded individuals to register to vote! All we need is a few people to join us for an hour or two during the six hours of the street fair, while we try to accomplish our goals. May 7, 2008, 7:00pm: Siete De Mayo party hosted by the New York Young Republican Club (the state-party affiliated one) at El Tequilazo, 46th St Between 5th and 6th Avenues. No cover, no rsvp, and the event is for members and nonmembers alike. Come for drinks, specials, and appetizers with other Republicans. Meet and network with other NYYRC members and other Young Professionals from the NYC Metro area.

May 8, 2008, 7:30pm: The next New York Young Republican Club (the independent one), Inc meeting will feature: A Fox News Contributor, Margaret Hoover is a regular on Bill O'Reilly's top-rated show, The Factor. Ms. Hoover has also appeared as a guest co-host on ABC's The View, CNN's Larry King Live, CBS's The Early Show as well as Fox News and Fox Business programs. Ms. Hoover is a member of the Board of Overseers for the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and serves on the board of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association. www.margarethoover.com AND John P. Avlon was chief speech writer and deputy policy director for the Rudy Giuliani campaign. Mr. Avlon has appeared on Fox News, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, CNN, MSNBC and PBS to discuss presidential politics. May 15, 2008, 7:00pm: The next New York Young Republican Club (the state-party affiliated one), Inc meeting will feature: Brett Josphe and S.E. Cupp are the authors of the soon to be released, Why You're Wrong About the Right: Behind the Myths: The Surprising Truth About Conservatives, a book that dispels many stereotypes about the Republican Party. Noteable contributors include George Will, Tucker Carlson, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, Newt Gingrich, Al Leiter, Curt Schilling, Tony Stewart and many more. S.E. Cupp was born in California and raised primarly in Andover, MA. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree at NYU in religious studies, and plans to write about American culture, including politics, sports and religion, in the future. Brett Joshpe was born in 1980 in Stamford, NY. He graduated from Cornell University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Harvard Law School in 2005 with a Juris Doctor. He now serves as a corporate counsel at the law firm of Wrobel & Schatz LLP and has several business pursuits outside of law, including serving as a principal in the commercial real estate firm, Iconik Enterprises, LLC. May 15, 2008, 6:00am: Washington, DC Pro-Israel Lobbying Trip with YJLPAC. Our intrepid Organizational Committee members, Joe Glass, Baruch Hecht, Boris Noble, and Sabra US CapitalSasson, have arranged an incredible Washington, D.C., pro-Israel lobbying trip and tour! The group will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. at the New Century Travel bus station at 88 East Broadway - near the Manhattan Bridge (check it out on mapquest). Don't be late, the bus leaves at 7:00 a.m. The bus arrives in Washington, DC at 11:30 a.m. There will be plenty of time to nap on the bus. For alternative methods of travel please see below.
The PAC will be hosted by Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) - the youngest member of the House and staunch supporter of Israel - and Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) - Chief Deputy Whip and Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, not to mention Jewish and Republican. Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) will also be joining us. Rep. King is a hometown hero and ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee. Rep. Garrett serves on the House Republican Policy Committee, which develops legislative ideas and vision for the Republican agenda in the House of Representatives. Rep. Kirk is a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee and serves on two of its subcommittees: State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs, and Financial Services. Rep. Flake serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, helped monitor Namibia's transition to democracy and has served as Executive Director of the Goldwater Institute. We expect several more Congressman to attend and will make that information available as soon as possible. This list is, of course, subject to cancellations.
