JUNE LIST OF EVENTS (Check back often, events are updated all the time):

June 4, 2008, 7:00pm: The New York Young Republican Club (the state-party affiliated one) June Social at Bowery Wine Company, 13 East 1st Street, between Bowery+Second Avenue. Bruce Willis is not being welcomed warmly by the anarchists, Marxists, and counter-culture riffraff of the Lower East Side now that he's opened the Bowery Wine Company. In fact, John Penley, a liberal activist, told Page Six in the NY Post that "We want to show our opposition to right-wing Republicans opening yuppie wine bars in our neighborhood." Needless to say, we're going to fill his neighborhood whether he likes it or not. Come join us for a great evening. Members, Non-members and all Guests are warmly welcomed. Free.

June 4, 2008, 8:00pm: Lolita Debates presents “Should Conservatives and Libertarians Vote for Barr Instead of McCain?” — with Ron Paul campaign veteran Avery Knapp (yes) vs. science and economics writer (Scientific American Mind, elsewhere) Ken Silber (no). Michel Evanchik moderates, and Todd Seavey hosts. Free admission, cash bar. The debates, usually pitting two opponents against each other (in a civil and often humorous fashion), take place on the basement level of Lolita Bar at 266 Broome St. at the corner of Allen St. on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, one block south and three west of the Delancey St. F, J, M, Z subway stop.

June 12, 2008, 7:30pm: New York Young Republican Club, Inc (the independent one) Monthly Meeting featuring speaker Diana Furchtgott-Roth. Diana Furchtgott-Roth is a Senior Fellow with the Hudson Institute whose expertise is economics, jobs and labor economics, tax policies and regulation. June 19, 2008, 7:00pm: The New York Young Republican Club (the state-party affiliated one) May Monthly Meeting at the Women's National Republican Club, 3 West 51st Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Speaker Announced: DAVID FRUM, former speechwriter to President Bush, also a National Review contributor, and author. http://www.davidfrum.com/aboutfrum.htm We'll also hear from multiple candidate about their races! Come join us after the meeting for drinks and discussion at Connollys.

June 21, 2008, 11:00am-5:00pm: New York Young Republican Club, Inc (the independent one), 7th Avenue (bet 47th & 57th St) will sponsor its annual Mardi Gras Street Fair. Mardi Gras Street Fairs is the largest street for organization in America and this year will be our sixth year sponsoring one. The New York Young Republican Club would like dedicated Republicans (members or non-members) to help us represent our party, support our candidates and get new young conservative minded individuals to register to vote! All we need is a few people to join us for an hour or two during the six hours of the street fair, while we try to accomplish our goals. Send us an email at rsvp@nycyr.org with your name and what time you can come by.
