December 4, 2007, 5:30pm: Governor Spitzer has made it his mission to destroy the last remaining Republican institution in New York State. Show him that this will not be tolerated at a PROTEST on Tuesday. At 5:30PM, we will gather at a fundraiser that Governor Spitzer is headlining for Senate candidate, David Mejias just above Union Square. Please e-mail email@example.com for more information.
December 5, 2007, 8:00pm: Debates at Lolita Bar: “Does Military Strength Create Peace?” YES: Former Clinton intern (now business consultant to the French), Sarah Federman. NO: Former Pat Buchanan campaign worker (now Ron Paul sympathizer), John Carney. Todd Seavey hosts and Michel Evanchik moderates. Free admission, cash bar. The debates, usually pitting two opponents against each other (in a civil and often humorous fashion), take place on the basement level of Lolita Bar at 266 Broome St. at the corner of Allen St. on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, one block south and three west of the Delancey St. F, J, M, Z subway stop.
December 6, 2007, 7-10 pm: The Metropolitan Republican Club presents its annual Holiday Party. This year we will be helping to support the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center, named in honor of our former Met Club member and city councilman. If possible, please bring a gift for the Center, including professional clothing for the Youth Employment Program (ties, button down shirts, dress socks, etc), teen studying materials (e.g., Barron's Regents guides), dictionaries, teen fiction/nonfiction, board games, journals, gift cards (Best Buy, Gap, etc) or movie tickets. Member price is $35 ($40 without a gift), nonmember price is $40 ($45 without a gift), including buffet and all refreshments.
